Considering Los Angeles’ place as the second largest U.S. city, it only stands to reason that it would have one of the country’s premier art museums. LACMA (as it’s known by locals) features a permanent collection of art from literally all corners of the globe.
From art dating back to 6000 B.C. to paintings from Renaissance masters to photographs and sculpture from the end of the 20th century, the collection here takes weeks to explore. It hosts film screenings and free concerts on a regular basis. Check the Web site often or, better yet, become a member to find out about current and upcoming exhibitions.
